Absorption of excess body heat

At high ambient temperatures or when carrying out physical work which leads to sweating, the CVP 5220 comfort vest has a cooling effect.

Easy to use

The vest can simply be worn under protective clothing such as firefighters' duty gear or the gas-tight chemical protection suits of the TeamMaster series. Wide Velcro strips ensure a tight fit.

Function principle

The cooling effect is based on 22 PCM elements (Phase Change Material) which are integrated in the comfort vest. The primary material of the cooling elements is sodium sulfate decahydrate which, at temperatures below 22 °C, is in a solid state. From a surface temperature of 28 °C the content of the PCM elements absorbs thermal energy and becomes liquid. In this state, the vest can reduce the increased body temperature of the wearer by three to four degrees.

Long use

Depending on the physical effort and the ambient temperature the cooling effect of the comfort vest will last up to three hours.

Easy handling after use

To clean the vest after use, the PCM elements are removed. If the ambient temperature drops below 22 °C, a phase change will occur. The content of the PCM elements will become solid again within 30 minutes to two hours and, the vest can then be re-used.
