New Zealand Fire Service to receive its first PSS 5000 DP new generation SCBA
Wellington, New Zealand – Following the announcement of the New Zealand Fire Service in late December 2010 that Dräger would become the preferred supplier of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus to the New Zealand Fire Service, the National Commander of the New Zealand Fire Service, Mike Hall, together with the National Procurement Manager, Peter Kiernan, have recently taken receipt of the first PSS 5000 DP breathing apparatus. The official hand-over took place during a visit of the two New Zealand Fire Service representatives at Dräger’s head office in Luebeck, Germany and the CEO of Dräger, Stefan Dräger, didn’t want to miss the opportunity to present the first set to Mike Hall.

The supply of the first larger shipment of SCBA sets will commence in June 2011 with a large number of sets being delivered prior to the end of 2011.

Victoria Police to Take Receipt Of Their First Dräger Alcotest 9510 Evidential Breathalyzer
Drink Driving Offenders Will Experience New Technology Soon
Melbourne, Australia – The Laboratory Manager from Victoria Police, Glenn Bowkett, together with the Forensic Officer, Tibor Ducza, have taken receipt of the first of a total of 270 Dräger Alcotest 9510 breathalyzers. The official hand-over took place during a factory training visit of the two Victorian representatives at Dräger’s head office in Luebeck. Representatives from Dräger’s Strategic Business Field Diagnostics didn’t want to miss the opportunity to present the first unit to Glenn and Tibor.
Following the announcement from Victoria Police last year that Dräger would be their preferred supplier of their next generation evidential breath analysis instruments, the supply of all 270 units will be carried out in May and June 2011.
Dräger is proud to have secured this contract and is looking forward to working with Victoria Police to ensure a smooth transition with the equipment and a continued strong partnership.

Dräger to Reduce Spare Parts Pricing
After careful consideration of the changing market and Dräger’s need to remain competitive, the company has decided to critically review its spare parts pricing structure. In addition to addressing customer needs, Dräger is also taking into consideration the improved exchange rates for imported items. In almost every instance, the new prices are lower and in many cases significantly so.

New insights into the lung - EIT device from Dräger revolutionises ventilation monitoring
Lübeck, Germany – The new PulmoVista 500 is the first EIT device (Electrical Impedance Tomography) intended for everyday clinical use by intensivists to view regional distribution of lung ventilation directly at the bedside. With up to 50 images per second, physicians can track the effects of intensive care ventilation in real time.
